Echo Frames Eyeglasses with Alexa
So, would you wear Echo Frames Eyeglasses with Alexa?
Well, let’s see what these things do.
First, they have “open-ear” audio. This means that you don’t have anything to stick in your ears in order to hear. The audio is directed towards your ear with minimal sound that others can hear.
Next they, obviously, have access to Alexa. You can speak to Alexa just like you do with any other smart speaker. Set appointments, make calls, and set reminders all while simply speaking with the glasses on. I’m guessing they’d work if they were on a table nearby as well. You may not hear Alexa’s confirmation. Again, just guessing. I don’t have a pair to review in person.
What’s Needed to Use Echo Frames?
The frames require access to either an IOS or Android device. So, good news for everyone, they also support Siri and Google assistant. You can click this link to check if your device is compatible. Start there if you are looking to get these.
Are They Compatible With Prescription Lenses?
It appears that they are. They have a link to the guide on the sales page for the lenses. You can reach the amazon.com sales page by clicking the image below.
It says that prescriptions can be filled at LensCrafters locations.
The Good
Well, in my opinion they look good. They look like your typical pair of eyeglasses. The earpieces are a little thicker than normal. However, not overly so.
I don’t need glasses. So, for me these aren’t a high priority item. I’m also not the type who makes many notes, needs quick access to a calendar, or is away from a computer very much.
If you do wear glasses and having quick access to the items it lets you access then maybe it’s worth the price for the added convenience.
